Once again, the kind of food that just hits different in the rain. Seblak Asgar — a place I first tried near a well-known campus in Yogyakarta. To this day, the flavors across their outlets remain consistent, including at this branch.

As usual, seblak stalls offer both à la carte and set meal options. Since seblak isn’t a staple food for me, I naturally went with the set.

I ordered the Special Jeletot at spice level 2. The heat was just right, though I added a squeeze of lime to boost the flavor. The fillings were all delicious — except for one thing I didn’t enjoy: the chicken feet, which somehow ended up hiding at the bottom of the bowl. Had I known there’d be ceker in there, I would’ve asked for them to be left out. The pasta and noodles were wonderfully chewy — solid all around.
